In Schools

I hope that this book becomes more than words on a page.  I hope it sparks conversations and helps people find solutions.

Silence Your Demons has been designed to be used in schools, to help students.

We have a few ideas that you could use. But, we’d love you to make it your own and find creative ways to start valuable conversations.

Here's one idea…

Use this book as part of personal, social and health education.

Read the story together.

At the end of each chapter, there are a few pages that we call “How to Silence Your Demons”. The purpose of these is to help us apply the ideas within the story to our own lives.

Of course, you don’t have to stick to these questions. There are many others you could ask. We hope that these questions can stimulate conversations about our own life challenges and mental health.

Or maybe…

Enable students to set up some peer support groups or clubs. Could they use the book to help kickstart conversations about mental health, share their challenges and experiences, and offer each other some solutions?

Testimonial goes here. Example from a teacher and student who used the pages in class…

Who it was goes here.

"Your challenge today was someone else’s yesterday and will be another person’s tomorrow. Let’s find the solutions together!”.

RESEARCH

We’ve been using some of these approaches ourselves, through the Delta Trust and Education Exchange.

Importantly, we wanted to assess the impact that the book, and the conversations it sparked, actually has on teenagers’ mental health.

So, we conducted a research project.

This is what we found...
